Below you will find the answers to some of our more frequently asked questions
Do I have to book?
Bookings are encouraged, book online or give us a call to secure your spot! Walk-ins are most welcome but subject to availability.
Is there a time limit to climb?
A casual entry includes 3 hours of climbing.
What is the youngest age a child can climb?
We suggest that climbing is most suited to ages 5 and over, however, there is no age restriction to climb, it all depends on the individual and their comfort with heights and their ability to get up the wall. We have harnesses to fit even the smallest of children.
Can I come by myself?
Yes! We have 8 autobelays around the gym which do not require anyone to hold the rope. Each autobelay has a number of routes of varying difficulty, and best of all they don't require a belayer!
Who can hold the ropes?
For safety reasons we only allow people aged 12 and over to hold the ropes for other participants. Our staff will instruct you how to do this on arrival.
What do I wear?
Please wear comfortable enclosed shoes while you are climbing and holding the ropes. We have climbing shoes that you can hire a $4 a pair. Dress in comfortable clothes to move around in and everyone please keep your shirts on!
Is there a weight restriction?
Our manufacturers recommend that if you weigh over 120 kg, the use of the auto-belays and climbing systems at Hangdog is not recommended.
Where do I park?
Hangdog does not have any off street parking; you can park in some of the quieter streets a short distance away from Hangdog. Be careful not to park in the bus zone that is out the front (it’s marked).
